The Line: An Unemployment Demonstration March 6
On March 6, Super Tuesday at 8:14 am an unemployment line with thousands of people holding pink slips over their heads will stretch through Manhattan from the Wall Street bull to Times Square. Join this powerful collaboration between artists and labor.
The Line brings together organizations as varied as the NYC Central Labor Council and Occupy Wall Street, to reach varied constituencies all over NYC. CVH Action, CWA Local 1180, DC37, Fourth Arts Block, Foundry Theatre, HERE, National Jobs for All Coalition, NOW – NYC, New Georges, Professional Staff Congress, Theatre for a New City, the Triangle Coalition, Workers Defense League, and the Working Theatre have all signed on to bring people to the action.
The Line is looking for people willing to stand in for the unemployed for 14 minutes. One minute for each of the million unemployed in the US today.
